The Tisuka Sunshine Scholarship
The Tisuka Foundation was pleased to launch its groundbreaking initiative, The Tisuka Sunshine Scholarship in June 2024. This program, funded by Global Changemakers offers high-school students, with a particular emphasis on empowering girls, from designated Zambian schools, the exclusive opportunity to enroll in a fully accredited solar installation course at no cost.
Our founder initiated her commitment to STEM education by actively participating in the WOMHUB WOMEN South Africa's #1MillionGirlsInSTEM Initiative. Driven by a visionary outlook, she aspired to empower underserved children with practical skills, fostering their ability to enhance their lives and augment their prospects in Zambia's burgeoning renewable energy sector.
The course covers the basics of solar PV installation, including the basic solar terminologies, solar calculations, solar system design and sizing, all the way to evaluation and maintenance, including a day of physical solar installation training. This will support them in their careers, contributing to Zambia's sustainable development and joining the fight against climate change.

It is our hope that in the near future, Tisuka will send as many children as we can for real, hands-on attachment/internships in order for them to experience working as solar technicians in the field.
If you would like to support our initiative and help towards paying for more certificates for the children, feel free to reach us and donate!
