Tisuka Partners with Challenges Zambia and SightSavers to develop solutions to support entrepreneurs with disabilities

At the heart of Tisuka's vision is commitment to improving the lives of African communities. About 13% of Zambians and 11-15% of the Sub-Saharan African population have at least 1 disability. Entrepreneurs with disabilities face significant barriers to starting up and growing businesses due to lack of business skills, lack of access to accessible markets, and lack of capital.

Tisuka is dedicated to developing innovative solutions to these problems, and has begun mentorship for entrepreneurs with disabilities. We are excited to see what progress we make in the coming months.

Zambian Government and GIZ Emulate Tisuka Sunshine Scholarship

Tisuka was pleased to learn that the Ministry of Energy of The Republic of Zambia, along with GIZ and the Solar Industry Association of Zambia, under the THRIVE initiative are taking aspects of The Tisuka Sunshine Scholarship to Lusaka's government schools.

Our Founder who created the scholarship was honored to be invited mentor yet another group of capable young girls following their day of solar training at the premises of Tisuka's long-time partner, Fountain Gate Trades and Crafts School.

It is our hope that the government continues to support this worthy endeavor, and that our Zambian female youth decide to pursue careers in STEM and renewable energy.
