Tisuka Group represented Zambia in Sandton, South Africa during the WomHub Africa Innovation Fellowship Bootcamp. WomHub has been our supporter and guide since Tisuka's inception. We had a wonderful time visiting our partner in sustainability, women-led innovation, and community impact in STEM education and vocational training for African female youths.

We are pleased to share that GIZ and the Ministry of Energy have decided to emulate Tisuka's work, and we're honoured to have pioneered a movement focused on educating and mentoring brilliant African young women. Tisuka never ceases to foster growth, sustainability and SDG impact

Cohort 3 of the Tisuka Sunshine Scholarship was successful at St Lawrence Home of Hope for Boys! Over 3 days, our Scholars learned the basics of solar energy, series and parallel circuits, and important units like voltage, current, and power. They came to understand batteries, inverters, panels, charge controllers, and male and female connectors as we designed our own solar systems, explored different applications of solar energy like solar irrigation, solar heating and even solar-powered minigrids, as well as explaining their role in fostering sustainability and fighting climate change. The cohort ended with hands-on installations of various solar systems and applications.

Our founder has secured the bag once again!
Following her excellent pitch of our long-term rolling project, the Tisuka Sunshine Scholarship, she won Lusaka Rotoract Club of Lusaka's Lusaka Soup.
We remain dedicated to empowering Zambian youths with useful skills, raising awareness about climate change and renewable energy, and promoting gender equality in STEM.

Tisuka has partnered with the Chiedza Community Welfare Trust in Zimbabwe.
In Zambia, many girls lack menstrual health support, limiting their education and future in STEM fields. Throughout Tisuka's educational programmes, we will be donating reusable sanitary pads and menstrual products, all compiled in our Comfort Kits, to all female participants in need. Chiedza has over a decade of experience in manufacture and supply of menstrual health products, and we are excited to have partnered with them as a supplier for our donations.

Tisuka has launched its Tisuka Sunshine Scholarship!
The Tisuka Sunshine Scholarship, launched in June 2024, offers selected female students from underserved communities a free solar installation course at Fountain Gate Trade School. Accredited by TEVETA Zambia, the course covers photovoltaic electrics, solar modules, system components, and hands-on installation. Reusable menstrual pads are provided to prevent absenteeism. Graduates receive a certificate, enhancing their employment prospects in Zambia’s renewable energy sector. The program also includes ongoing mentorship and support to further the girls' education and careers in STEM.

A programme of the Tisuka Foundation, Tisuka often offers interactive STEM and climate education sessions reaching hundreds of learners at a time, offering career guidance, myth-busting around STEM, and real-world inspiration from female engineers who join virtually from South Africa and Botswana.
We visited LICEF School in Lusaka, and had a blast, offering career guidance to young Zambians and educating them on STEM and renewable energy.

Tisuka is pleased to have partnered with the Zambezi Royal Establishment. His Royal Highness has given us the honor of partnership, allowing us to build Tisuka's projects such as large-scale solar farms and land restoration projects in His Chiefdom. Tisuka is planting raw material for the production of clean cooking fuel pellets to combat the devastating effects of overdependence on charcoal in Zambia. Furthermore, our pilot solar farm project, partially owned by the community of Zambezi District, will be constructed in His Chiefdom.

Tisuka had the privilege of being nominated for the Verdexim Sustainability Award by Exim Finance, a financial institution in Dubai, UAE, focused on sustainable finance and investing in climate-friendly development.
